Roundtable / Supporting collaborative problem-solving in education: challenges and enabling conditions

At the international conference EARLI SIG 10&21&25 (7-9 September 2022, Belgrade), we organized a round table where we discussed the conditions that encourage and support or hinder productive peer collaboration in solving problems.

Some of the leading researchers in this field took part in the work of the round table. The topic of how the findings of previous research can be applied in regular classes in schools was singled out as particularly important.

Those invited to participate in the discussion were Aleksandar Baucal (University of Belgrade), Anne-Nelly Perret-Clermont (University of Neuchâtel), Nathalie Muller Mirza (University of Geneva), Valérie Tartas (University of Toulouse), Charis Psaltis (University of Cyprus), Ivana Stepanović Ilić (University of Belgrade) & Boris Jokić (Institute for Social Research, Croatia), although from the beginning the discussion went beyond the circle of invited conferees and included a wider audience.

The PEERSolvers project, “The PEER model of collaborative problem solving: Developing young people’s capacities for constructive interaction and teamwork – PEERSolvers” was financed by the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia within the IDEAS program (#7744729).
